Looking for an all new wardrobe? START WITH THE BASICS! All you need to start your brand new wardrobe is a couple fashion pieces, equipt to be the foundation of every outfit. Basics are timeless pieces that will never go out of style. They are also the building blocks of every well put together outfit and can be paired with almost everything else in your closet. These pieces are what you should spend the most money on. I justify the investment with the amount of variety and durability they each give me.
There are two key aspects to knowing what to start out with.
Neutrals. I’m talking blacks, whites, greys, khakis and all their variations.
Tailored or well fitted. Meaning... flattering, things that are made to hit you at the right places, are tailored to be fitted where your body naturally curves and lays to enhance your shape.
So where do you start? Use this checklist as a guide for a strong wardrobe foundation.
Simple Black Dress-
Simple, classy and Sexy- the little black dress is a never fail for getting dressed up. If you didn’t already: know black is slimming. The color doesn’t tattle on us by showing every shadow from every curve. Black is a god sent for going out to dinner and not feeling like you need to tuck your stomach away after. When looking for your perfect black dress think of what you’re not comfortable showing off. It’s the easiest way to hide it and feel fabulous. For example if you’re not comfortable showing your legs, go for a maxi dress (simple and elegant). Arms? Try out a long or 3/4 length sleeve. The right dress can even hide your mid-drift with draping and ruching.
