Spring is in the air! The weather is FINALLY warming up and that means I can FINALLY start showing a little skin, without freezing. In New England, we are blessed with all four seasons and Spring has to be my favorite. With Spring in mind, the next couple of posts will be geared around outfit basics for this time of the year as well as outfit ideas and inspiration.

It's a common myth that you shouldn't mix denim with denim. To that I say... Watch me. That being said, when mixing denim, keep in mind that it's easy to go overboard and end up looking like you're wearing a cowboy costume for Halloween. An easy way to make a baby step into mixing denim is to mix the washes. Here I mixed white wash denim jeans with a medium/dark denim button-up.

The white jeans add a light summery look to the outfit, while the rolled up long sleeved dark denim shirt adds keeps the outfit warm, with a "country" flare. Lastly, when working with different denim washes, keep in mind what shoes you're pairing the outfit with.

TIPS:

1.) One of my biggest tips when mixing denim is to add a pop of color with a necklace, contrasting shoe or bold makeup.

2.) If you're going to go all the way with the same or similar wash denims, make sure that you split the outfit up with accessories such as a colored belt to separate the two denim pieces.

3.) Be daring and have fun when mixing denim, and wear white jeans whenever you want to! Who says there's only certain time you can wear white denim.
