I will be posting a new "Prom Don't" throughout the next couple of weeks so keep checking in! My aim for these posts is to help. Disclaimer: I am not telling you what to do nor how you should look. My blog is about confidence and I strive to have all of you feel confident no matter what day or event. This post is centered around prom specifically, but it does apply to most formal events. I hope by steering you away from makeup and fashion disasters that you'll feel more confident on your big night.

Makeup Flashback-
Have you ever seen a picture of a girl who's face looked whited out or powdery? That's called flashback, and it's caused when the foundation or concealer on your face has SPF in it, or when you apply too much powder without dusting off excess. Good news is there's an easy fix to this problem.
HOW TO FIX IT:
1.) Read the foundation before you buy it. If it has an SPF of 10 or more, stay away. Any flash photography taken will make you look pasty and washed out, like you've seen a ghost or even worse you'll look like the ghost.
2.) Stay away from BB creams! While BB and CC creams are perfect for casual no-makeup days they're not ideal for going out. They often have high SPF and absorb all of the light from the camera flash.
3.) If you have the problem with excess powder on your face, just simply take a clean powder brush (preferably fluffy) after finishing and go over your face.
4.) Always finish with a setting spray. This will keep your face from looking cakey as well as take off any excess powder that might be on your face.
